Installation notes: This version of Mac OS X is for PowerPC. x86 emulators like VirtualBox, VMWare or Virtual PC will not work. These releases will only run on specific models of PPC Apple Macintosh computers. QEMU (PPC) is known to run 10.0.

Those words set up my review of Mac OS X 10.1 almost a year ago. Mac OS X began life as the last, best hope for Apple's decade-spanning quest for a modern operating system. At first, it was enough for it to simply exist as a stable, feasible product strategy. But while developer releases revealed some very interesting technology, they also raised some red flags. The public beta was a warning shot across the bow of an anxious community of early adopters. The initial release reinforced the old Apple saying: "real artists ship." Mac OS X 10.0 had arrived, but there were problems.
By the time version 10.1 was released, I was ready for some salvation. Version 10.1 held the promise of being the "mainstream release"--something good enough for everyone to use, not just the brave early adopters that sweated out the public beta and the 10.0 release. Version 10.1 certainly was a vast improvement over 10.0. The previous statement can be read as praise for 10.1 or as a condemnation of 10.0, but it is undeniable.
The first version of Mac OS X 10.0 lacked many important features, such as DVD support, and was not particularly fast, but was overall acceptably stable and working. It represented a clear break with the past (Mac OS) by introducing, in addition to the radical change of the operating system, the Dock and the Aqua interface. Most of the shortcomings and macroscopic defects have been corrected with subsequent updates, made available by Apple.
Now, this post wouldn't be very exciting if I tried this on my Mac Pro, but I decided to try it on my MacBook M1. Thus far, the community has succeeded in getting QEMU to install the ARM version Windows, so I decided to do the more silly path and get PPC and X86 working on Apple Silicon. I encountered very little resistance, which surprised me as I haven't seen/read anyone trying this route. It's surprsingly very usable but the usefulness is going to be limited. I was able to play Sim City 2000 on Mac OS 9.2 at a fairly high resolution. For the sake of brevity, I'm going to skip over installing Homebrew on an Apple M1, but you'll want to use the arch -x86_64 method, which requires prepending. I've gotten OS 10.0 and nearly gotten Windows 10 working on my M1.
I discovered that OS X 10.0's installer has a significant flaw: It doesn't have a disk utility. The disk images are black disks thus have no file system. If you want to run OS X 10.0, you'll need to first launch an installer that can format HFS like OS 9 or later versions of OS X, run the disk utility, format the image and then exit out of the emulator. The process would look like this:
With the exception of Mac OS X Server 1.0 and the original public beta, the first several macOS versions were named after big cats. Prior to its release, version 10.0 was code named "Cheetah" internally at Apple, and version 10.1 was code named internally as "Puma".
On March 24, 2001, Apple released Mac OS X 10.0 (internally codenamed Cheetah).[36]The initial version was slow, incomplete, and had very few applications available at the time of its launch, mostly from independent developers. While many critics suggested that the operating system was not ready for mainstream adoption, they recognized the importance of its initial launch as a base on which to improve. Simply releasing Mac OS X was received by the Macintosh community as a great accomplishment, for attempts to completely overhaul the Mac OS had been underway since 1996, and delayed by countless setbacks. Following some bug fixes, kernel panics became much less frequent.
Mac OS X 10.1 (internally codenamed Puma) was released on September 25, 2001.[37]It has better performance and provided missing features, such as DVD playback. Apple released 10.1 as a free upgrade CD for 10.0 users. Apple released a US$129 upgrade CD for Mac OS 9.

An easier but also less secure option is to search for an ISO of your desired version of macOS online. There are plenty of sites that have them, but downloading an ISO from an unofficial site does come with a level of risk. However, the amount of technical knowledge you need for this is way less. This is an easier, and hence preferred, method for getting access to Apple software.
Welcome to the Apache Tomcat 10.x software download page. This page provides download links for obtaining the latest version of Tomcat 10.0.x software, as well as links to the archives of older releases.
You must verify the integrity of the downloaded files. We provide OpenPGP signatures for every release file. This signature should be matched against the KEYS file which contains the OpenPGP keys of Tomcat's Release Managers. We also provide SHA-512 checksums for every release file. After you download the file, you should calculate a checksum for your download, and make sure it is the same as ours.

If you purchased UTM from the Mac App Store, installation is done for you. If you download the app directly, a disk image file named UTM.dmg appears in your download folder. Open it to mount the disk image. Press the Command Key, then drag the UTM application icon from the disk image to the Applications folder.
Probably the most useful button for new UTM users is Browse UTM Gallery. Click this to display a web page with links to download pages for a number of virtual machines (screenshot above). At this time, ARM native VMs are available for:
Thanks for the very detailed step-by-step guide.Looks like the Windows part is no longer relevant. They now have a link to a UUP download which converts the files downloaded into an ISO, which you then can install normally using UTM.
When I install Ubuntu on my Mac Mini M1 the VM has an ip of 10.0.2.15 whereas my local lan is 192.168.0.xIs there a way to configure the VM to be part of my local lan so I can see it from other devices?
I think I may have figured this out, the DNS server seems to provide by DHCP 10.0.2.3 by manually adding 10.0.2.2 which is the default gateway this allows me to access the internet, you can use ping to resolve addresses but not to contact them. Hope this helps.

To target Windows 8.1, Windows 8, and Windows 7, install an older WDK and an older version of Visual Studio either on the same machine or on a separate machine. For links to older kits, see Other WDK downloads.
When you install Visual Studio 2022, select the Desktop development with C++ workload. The Windows 11, version 22H2 Software Development Kit (SDK) that is compatible with the Windows 11, version 22H2 WDK is not included in Visual Studio. Please use the SDK download link in step 2 below.
If you can't find driver project templates in Visual Studio, the WDK Visual Studio extension didn't install properly. To resolve this, run the WDK.vsix file from this location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\10\Vsix\VS2022\10.0.22621.382\WDK.vsix.
No, as long as you are installing Lion on your own personal Macs, this is fine. Mac OS X Lion comes with a very generous personal license that allows you to install the OS on all of your personal Macs. This method just allows you to avoid downloading the entire package again.
You have 11A511. The App Store version is 11A494. Slightly older version for the older Macs. 11A511 components are downloaded during the install process. See my comment to your other post about option-clicking.
I lost my OSX SL CD. Can I buy and download Lion on my MacBook Air, make a usb-stick like this, and then do a clean install with it on my iMac? Or will this usb stick only be useable on the machine I made it?
you will be able to do an upgrade using this methodon your macs as long as they have core 2 duo ornewer intel processor 2gb of ram or more 8 + gb of harddrive space free I would recommend 40gb + free forbest performance and even though you have downloadedlion using a Mac other than you are installing it on the installerwill still insist you have to be running 10.6.6 or laterand will not proceed with the upgrade unless you are running10.6.6 or later 2ff7e9595c
